This is actually a photo of a hand dyed silk scarf I created. It was dyed using Jacquard Green label dyes, steamed, then washed in a dye fixative to set the colors. I used brown dyes to create an antique or rustic feel.

Melissa A. Torres is Registered Nurse, originally from Newburgh, NY, with no formal art education.
