This painting is done in honor of all of our heroes both two legged and four. It is a painting of SGT Daisy, a retired MWD. The "bomb" is her first toy after retirement. The floor represents the floor of her owners home where she now gets to spend the rest of her days.
About Melissa Torres
Melissa A. Torres is Registered Nurse, originally from Newburgh, NY, with no formal art education. She began taking an acrylic art class in March of 2011, but has been painting and drawing since childhood. Most of her work so far has been commissioned pieces. She loves to transform a photograph of a person's loved one(s) or pet(s) into a work of art. She enjoys working largely with acrylic, but has done work in water color, pastel, and charcoal, and recently began working with oils. She member of RAW:natural born artists, Contemporary Fine Art International, and Artists of Texas. Melissa presently lives in San Antonio, TX, and works as a Registered Nurse.
